Kelli Maddock, DrPH, MS, MLS(ASCP)CMM, Microbiology and Biosafety Level-3 section head at the North Dakota State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (NDSU VDL), is a board-certified medical laboratory scientist with BS and MS degrees in Medical Laboratory Science. In the summer of 2024, she received her Doctor of Public Health from the University of South Florida. Prior to joining the NDSU VDL in 2015, she worked for 6 years at Sanford Health as a laboratory technical assistant and Medical Laboratory Scientist. Dr. Maddock is passionate about laboratory quality, diagnostic testing standards, and patient care. She serves on the NDSU Institutional Biosafety Committee and actively helps to develop laboratory standards with the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) Veterinary Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test Working Group. Her graduate training focused on public health and laboratory leadership, including standards for test development, and employee retention and job satisfaction. When not at the lab, Dr. Maddock enjoys spending time with her family and is currently revisiting knitting and hobbies once lost to graduate school.
