Pioneer in Virology Award:
This award recognizes an individual who is retired and has made major contributions in a career of diagnostic virology. The Virology Committee solicits nominations and selects the awardee(s) when qualified candidates are available. At the annual meeting, a plaque is presented to the awardee during the Virology Committee meeting. The committee partially covers travel expenses of the awardee to attend the Virology Committee meeting at the AAVLD annual meeting.
Dear AAVLD members,
Pioneer in Virology Award recognizes an individual who is retired and has made major contributions in a career of diagnostic virology. The AAVLD Virology Committee solicits nominations and selects the awardee when qualified candidates are available. At the AAVLD annual meeting, a plaque is presented to the awardee during the Virology Committee meeting. The committee partially covers the travel expenses of the awardee to attend the Virology Committee meeting at the AAVLD annual meeting.
The Virology Committee is open to soliciting nominations for the 2025 Pioneer in Virology Award. The nominee should be from the field of virology and retired. To nominate, please provide a brief description of the nominee’s career and impact in diagnostic virology. Any AAVLD members could submit the nominations. The Virology Committee members will review the nomination materials and select the awardee. Please send your nomination materials to Drs. Melanie Prarat, cochair ([email protected]), and Roman Pogranichniy ([email protected]) before the end of March 31, 2025.
