AAVLD PATHOLOGY AWARD OPPORTUNITIESTrainee Travel Awards l Pathology Awards l Bacteriology Awards l Virology Awards l JVDI Awards l Molecular Diagnostics & BioInformatics Presentations Travel and AwardsThe AAVLD / USAHA meeting is a remarkable opportunity for trainees interested in diagnostic pathology to learn and develop professional networks that will be helpful throughout their career. Trainees are encouraged to attend and present scientific papers, case presentations and posters. Competitive travel awards of $1,750.00 are awarded to trainees who present scientific papers at the meeting. Pathology residents and graduate students will be eligible to compete for the 2023 Diagnostic Pathology Slide Seminar Awards. These awards ($300, $200 and $ 100 for first, second and third prizes, respectively) will be presented for the three best student case presentation. In addition, the Pathology Committee sponsors the AAVLD/ACVP Award for the best pathology scientific paper and the recipient is provided $1,000.00 to present the winning presentation at the 2024 ACVP meeting. AAVLD Diagnostic Pathology Slide Seminar Awards (slide seminar presentation): This competition has a separate open and close date for submission. Abstract submission opens June 1st and closes July 31st. The AAVLD Pathology Committee is providing awards to the top 3 presenters at this seminar. First, Second and Third Place awards will be $300, $200, and $100, respectively. These presentations will not be in the proceedings book because they will be determined based on the presentations during the annual meeting. Submission and award selection will be coordinated by the AAVLD ScholarOne abstract central. AAVLD/ACVP Diagnostic Pathology Award for Residents/Graduate Students The AAVLD and the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) encourage trainees in veterinary pathology to participate in the annual meetings of both organizations. The AAVLD / ACVP Diagnostic Pathology Award for Residents/Graduate Students will be presented to a graduate student and/or veterinary pathology resident for the best oral presentation, in the field of veterinary pathology, given at the annual AAVLD meeting. The intention is to support travel of the winner to re-present the award-winning presentation at the next annual ACVP meeting. ACVP has a reciprocal award.
